Tamarind Thai Cuisine was established in 2004 by two aunts and one nephew. Dang Unchaleewan is “the queen of the kitchen”. She learned Thai cooking in Thailand at the family's restaurant there and brought the fresh, delicious recipes with her to a fortunate Plano population.

She was owner of 15 Thai restaurants in Bangkok Thailand , and she recently won first place in two categories at Thai Temple 's recent food festival and cook-off, for her papaya salad which is the famous salad in Thailand.
